Illinois HB5253 amends the Fire Protection District Act to adjust compensation for trustees based on the number of full-time paid firemen in the district. Trustees in districts with fewer than 4 full-time paid firemen can receive up to $1,500 per annum, those in districts with 4 to 9 full-time paid firemen can receive up to $2,000 per annum, and those in districts with 10 or more full-time paid firemen can receive up to $2,500 per annum. Trustees who complete approved fire protection district administration training can receive additional compensation equal to 50% of their base compensation.
