Illinois HB5229 mandates school boards to create an appeal process for students to access blocked websites on school-issued devices.

HB5229 amends the School Code to require each school board to establish an appeal process for students to access websites blocked on school-issued electronic devices. This process is available to students at the request of their parent or guardian if the website is reasonably related to the student's education or pursuit of work opportunities during or after high school.
