HB5126

Illinois HB5126 amends the Election Code to clarify procedures for voters who cannot submit their vote by mail ballots.

HB5126 amends the Illinois Election Code to provide options for voters who cannot submit their vote by mail ballots. If a voter is unable to submit a vote by mail ballot, they can submit a portion of the ballot if it was torn or mutilated, or an affidavit stating they never received a vote by mail ballot, completed and returned it but were informed it was not received, or received it but it was misplaced or destroyed. The bill also mandates that early voting ballots be transmitted to the State Board of Elections and made publicly accessible.
