Chamber Passed·4/15/26

Establishes the Permanent Punishment Review Task Force to analyze and recommend changes to Illinois's permanent punishment laws.

The Permanent Punishment Review Task Force Act creates a task force to research and analyze Illinois's statutory permanent punishments. These are penalties or disadvantages imposed due to a criminal conviction or history that are not part of the criminal sentence. The task force will identify factors and data relevant to modifying or eliminating these punishments, develop models for periodic review, and propose recommendations to the General Assembly. The Illinois Criminal Justice Information Authority will provide administrative support.
