Introduced·2/4/26
Introduced Text

Illinois HB4994 expands the adoption of the Illinois Stretch Energy Code to include counties, alongside municipalities.

Illinois HB4994 amends the Energy Efficient Building Act to allow both municipalities and counties to adopt the Illinois Stretch Energy Code. This code sets higher energy efficiency standards than the Illinois Energy Conservation Code. The Illinois Stretch Energy Code includes separate components for commercial and residential buildings, with performance targets based on a site energy index relative to the 2006 International Energy Conservation Code.
