HB4984

TICKETS-CONSUMER PROTECTIONS

Complete·6/25/26

Illinois HB4984 establishes consumer protections for ticket sales, including price transparency and a complaint system.

Illinois HB4984 amends the Ticket Sale and Resale Act to require ticket sellers and resellers to display the full price of a ticket, including all fees, when first shown to the consumer. The price cannot increase during the transaction, except for physical delivery costs and taxes. Resellers must possess or have a contract to purchase the tickets they sell. The Attorney General will set up a system for consumers to report violations, which will be reviewed for enforcement.
