Illinois HB4979 amends the Preventing Sexual Violence in Higher Education Act to enhance campus sexual misconduct climate surveys and academic major reports. The bill establishes a Task Force on Campus Sexual Misconduct Climate Surveys to develop a base survey for higher education institutions. This survey will gather information on topics such as the number and type of incidents of sexual misconduct, student awareness of institutional policies, and perceptions of campus safety. The base survey will be trauma-informed and will include optional questions.
