The bill creates the Remote Court Filing Task Force to research and evaluate the current ability of litigants to file court documents remotely across Illinois. The Task Force will identify barriers for pro se litigants, non-English speakers, people in crisis, those with disabilities, and those with low literacy. It will also evaluate approaches to address these barriers and recommend ways to improve access and usability of remote filing statewide. The Task Force will submit its findings and recommendations to the Supreme Court and General Assembly by October 1, 2027.
