HB4941 amends the Environmental Protection Act to change how the Underground Storage Tank Fund can be accessed for costs related to underground storage tanks. Owners and operators can access the fund for costs incurred from removing tanks installed over 30 years ago if certain conditions are met, such as not being the United States Government, the tank not containing exempt fuel, and the costs not already being covered by insurance or other agreements. For costs incurred before June 8, 2010, a $5,000 deductible applies, while for costs incurred after that date, a $10,000 deductible applies.
