Illinois HB4939 amends the Illinois Works Jobs Program Act to establish the Illinois Works Apprenticeship Initiative.

Illinois HB4939 amends the Illinois Works Jobs Program Act to establish the Illinois Works Apprenticeship Initiative. This initiative requires the use of apprentices on public works projects costing $500,000 or more and on all State-assisted projects. At least 10% of the labor hours in each prevailing wage classification must be performed by apprentices. For projects costing $500,000 or more, at least 25% of the labor hours must be performed by graduates of specific preapprenticeship programs.
