Illinois HB4924 amends the Mental Health and Developmental Disabilities Code by changing the jurisdiction of the circuit court over involuntary admissions. It specifies that the court has jurisdiction over persons subject to involuntary admission on an inpatient basis or in need of treatment by psychotropic medication and electroconvulsive therapy. It also removes the court's jurisdiction over persons subject to involuntary admission on an outpatient basis, effective January 1, 2030.
