HB4919

Establishes campaign free zones around polling places in Illinois, prohibiting electioneering within these zones.

Illinois HB4919 amends the Election Code to establish campaign free zones around polling places. These zones extend 100 feet from each entrance to the voting room and 500 feet from each entrance to the boundaries of forest preserve or conservation districts. Electioneering is prohibited within these zones. The bill also allows electioneering beyond these zones, including temporary signs, while polls are open. The State Board of Elections will provide guidelines for polling place signage.
