HB4883 amends the Illinois Vehicle Code to allow the Illinois Department of Transportation and local authorities to issue special permits for limited continuous operation of vehicles carrying agricultural commodities or logging products. The bill specifies that these permits can be issued for a period not exceeding 40 days and for a distance not exceeding 50 miles from specified locations. The bill also sets a fee of $5 per axle for special permits for increased axle loads used for hauling these products.
