HB4873

Illinois HB4873 regulates standards for wind and solar energy facilities in counties.

Illinois HB4873 amends the Counties Code to establish standards for wind and solar energy facilities in counties. Counties may set standards for these facilities, including height and number of devices, but cannot impose more restrictive requirements than specified. Counties cannot condition approval on property value guarantees or require escrow accounts. They may require agricultural impact mitigation agreements and public hearings. Counties can set blade height limitations but not below federal standards.
