Illinois HB4869 amends the Illinois Income Tax Act to allow qualified small businesses to apply for a tax credit for advertising with local news organizations. The credit is equal to the amount paid for qualified advertising, up to $2,500 per eligible taxpayer per year. The aggregate amount of all tax credits awarded in any calendar year cannot exceed $3,000,000. Credits are awarded on a first-come, first-served basis.
