Illinois HB4806 establishes grants for school social work internships and field placements for students.

HB4806 amends the Illinois School Code to create a grant program for school social work internships. Beginning in the 2026-2027 school year, the State Board of Education will award competitive grants to school districts and educational units with school social work interns. These grants will assist in funding internships as part of the interns' educator preparation programs. The stipend amount will be at least $15,000 per year for each intern at a rate of at least $25 per hour.
