Illinois HB4787 expands Medicaid coverage for brain injury services for individuals over 21.

HB4787 amends the Illinois Public Aid Code to expand Medicaid coverage for brain injury services for individuals over 21. Effective January 1, 2027, it allows reimbursement for services such as case management, nursing services, and physical therapy. This change addresses the current gap where individuals must stop receiving care or be transferred to a nursing home at age 21.
