The Veterans' Dependents and Spouses College Tuition Waiver Act provides a waiver of tuition and mandatory fees for spouses and dependents of eligible veterans at public institutions of higher education in Illinois. Eligible veterans include those with a service-connected disability rated at 30% or greater, those killed in the line of duty, those who died as a result of a service-connected disability, and those missing in action or classified as prisoners of war. The waiver applies only to tuition and mandatory fees, not room, board, books, supplies, or other nonmandatory expenses.
