HB4701

LIMITATIONS FACILITY FEES ACT

Introduced·1/29/26
Introduced Text

Limits facility fees charged by health care providers in Illinois, except for certain services.

The Limitations on Facility Fees Act restricts health care providers in Illinois from charging facility fees for outpatient services, except for those provided on a hospital's campus, at a facility with a licensed hospital emergency department, or at a freestanding emergency center. The Act also mandates that hospitals inform patients about facility fees for outpatient services. Additionally, it requires annual reporting on facility fees and identifies services that can be safely provided outside hospitals.
