HB4671 amends the Energy Community Reinvestment Act to extend the Displaced Energy Worker Dependent Transition Scholarship. This scholarship now covers four years of full-time enrollment, including summer terms, at a state-supported Illinois institution of higher learning. The scholarship is for dependents of energy workers who lost their jobs due to reduced operations or closures of fossil fuel power plants or coal mines in Illinois. The scholarship covers tuition and fees, up to the cost equivalent of one calendar year of full-time enrollment.
