Increases the number of special education teacher scholarships awarded annually.
Amends the Higher Education Student Assistance Act to increase the number of special education teacher scholarships awarded each year from 250 to 300. Recipients must agree to teach in Illinois public, private, or parochial schools for at least two years after graduation. Failure to fulfill the teaching requirement results in repayment of the scholarship amount plus interest. Scholarships are subject to appropriation.
