Dissolves townships in Illinois with a population under 500, transferring their powers and duties to the county.
The bill dissolves all townships in Illinois with a population less than 500, effective January 1, 2029. The county containing the geographic boundaries of the dissolving township assumes the powers, duties, and obligations of the dissolved township, excluding those of the township's road district. The county must use all real and personal property, and any other assets, together with all personnel, contractual obligations, and liabilities of the dissolving township solely on behalf of the residents of the geographic area within the boundaries of the dissolved township.
