Introduced·1/27/26
Introduced Text

Illinois HB4616 amends the Community Mental Health Act to require a hearing for a board member before removal.

Illinois HB4616 amends the Community Mental Health Act to change the process for removing a community mental health board member. The bill requires that before a member can be removed, they must have an opportunity to be heard by the full membership of the governing body. After this hearing, the member can be removed if a 2/3 majority vote of the entire governing body of the appointing authority is achieved at a public meeting. This change ensures due process for board members facing removal.
