Combating Health Misinformation Act establishes a unit to monitor and counter health misinformation and requires health-related information.

The Combating Health Misinformation Act establishes the Health Misinformation Response Unit within the Illinois Department of Public Health to monitor and counter health misinformation. The Act requires the Department to offer public health literacy grants and to recruit and train local health professionals and community leaders as trusted messengers to communicate accurate health information. It mandates that entities distributing health-related information in Illinois disclose their funding sources and provide citations for any factual claims.
