Illinois HB4566 amends the Natural Resource Restoration Trust Fund Act to establish the Natural Resource Restoration Trust Grant Program. The Department of Natural Resources will make grants to eligible entities for the restoration or replacement of injured or damaged natural resources. Eligible entities include units of local government, soil and water conservation districts, area-wide agencies, nonprofit organizations, institutes of higher education, and port authorities. Grants will not be awarded to entities responsible for the pollution event.
