HB4529

Illinois HB4529 amends the Election Code to require accessible polling places for voters with disabilities and elderly voters.

HB4529 amends the Illinois Election Code to ensure all polling places are accessible to voters with disabilities and elderly voters. It mandates that each polling place include at least one wheelchair-accessible voting booth. The State Board of Elections must report annually to the General Assembly on the number of accessible and inaccessible polling places, along with reasons for inaccessibility. The bill also provides for alternative voting methods for voters assigned to inaccessible polling places.
