Illinois HB4454 mandates hospitals to disclose patient transport costs before transport and list these costs on their websites.

HB4454 amends the Hospital Licensing Act to require hospitals to inform patients of the costs associated with transporting them to a hospital facility before the transport occurs. Additionally, hospitals must conspicuously list these transportation costs on their publicly accessible websites. The University of Illinois Hospital is also required to comply with these new transparency provisions.
