Introduced Text

Illinois HB4433 amends the Illinois Works Jobs Program Act to adjust apprenticeship labor hour goals for public works projects.

Illinois HB4433 modifies the Illinois Works Jobs Program Act by changing the apprenticeship labor hour goals for public works projects. For contracts and grant agreements executed between January 1, 2029, and January 1, 2031, at least 25% of the labor hours of each prevailing wage classification must be performed by apprentices. After January 1, 2031, this requirement increases to 50%. The bill also outlines conditions under which the Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity may reduce or waive these goals.
