HB4352

Illinois HB4352 repeals authority for automated traffic law enforcement systems and limits local governments' use of automated speed enforcement.

Illinois HB4352 repeals the authority for automated traffic law enforcement systems, which previously allowed for the use of cameras to record vehicles violating traffic control signals. The bill also limits local governments' use of automated speed enforcement systems to specific safety zones and mandates that all determinations to issue citations must be made by local authorities, not vendors. It requires local governments to post signs indicating the use of such systems and to provide recorded images only to the alleged violator and law enforcement.
