Illinois HB4308 amends the Probate Act of 1975 to modify guardianship procedures for individuals with disabilities. The bill mandates that if guardianship is necessary and the petition is filed by an unrelated corporation, nonprofit, or entity, the court must appoint the State Guardian or county public guardian. Temporary guardianships can be extended in cases of disability adjudication, pending appeals, or citation proceedings. The temporary guardianship expires 60 days after appointment unless extended.
