HB4281 amends Illinois Vehicle Code to adjust automated speed enforcement system regulations for municipalities.
HB4281 modifies the Illinois Vehicle Code to change the criteria for municipalities using automated speed enforcement systems. It reduces the minimum population requirement for a municipality to implement such systems from 1,000,000 to 25,000 inhabitants in a county with a population of 3,000,000 or more. The bill mandates that municipalities publish the locations of safety zones on their websites and post signs indicating the presence of speed enforcement systems.
