Illinois HB4255 amends the Criminal Code of 2012 to expand the prohibition on elephants in traveling animal acts to include other animals. The bill defines "covered animal" as any of the following animals, and hybrids of those animals: elephantidae, felidae (excluding a domestic cat), non-human primate, or ursidae. The law applies to any performance where animals are transported to, from, or between locations for the purpose of a performance in a mobile or traveling animal housing facility.
