Illinois HB4242 amends the Abused and Neglected Child Reporting Act by requiring the Department of Children and Family Services to notify the alleged perpetrator, parents, and guardians of an alleged child victim of the final determination of an abuse or neglect report. The notification must include a detailed list of all steps of the appeal process and a checklist of what must be submitted for an appeal. Concurrently, the Department must send a copy of all case information obtained during the investigation, excluding what is prohibited from disclosure under state or federal law.
