Illinois HB4232 amends the Illinois Vehicle Code to reduce vehicle registration fees for veterans and active-duty military personnel. Beginning with the 2026 registration year, the standard registration fee for passenger motor vehicles and motor vehicles weighing up to 8,000 pounds will be $100 for Illinois vehicle owners with a veteran's designation on their driver's license. Additionally, active-duty military personnel stationed outside the United States for 90 days or longer can receive a 50% reduction in their registration fees.
