Illinois HB4226 amends the Workers' Compensation Act to establish a rebuttable presumption that any health condition or impairment in hospital security guards, including those resulting from specified diseases or conditions, arises from and in the course of employment. This presumption applies if the employee knows or suspects they have received an excessive dose of radiation within 90 days. The bill also extends similar presumptions to firefighters, EMTs, EMT-Is, A-EMTs, and paramedics.
