Illinois HB4223 amends the Property Tax Code to repeal the requirement for certain property owners to file an affidavit annually.

HB4223 repeals the requirement for titleholders and owners of beneficial interests in property exempt from taxation for religious, school, or orphanage purposes to annually file an affidavit stating whether there has been any change in ownership or use of the property. The bill also removes the requirement for owners of 5 or more exempt parcels to list all properties in a single annual affidavit. The changes take effect immediately upon becoming law.
