Introduced·10/29/25
Introduced Text

Illinois HB4194 mandates that licensed day care centers cannot disclose a child's immigration status and must adopt policies to protect such.

Illinois HB4194 amends the Child Care Act of 1969 to ensure licensed day care centers do not disclose or threaten to disclose a child's actual or perceived citizenship or immigration status to any person, entity, or agency. The bill requires day care centers to adopt policies concerning consent to disclosure and to train staff on these policies by January 1, 2026. These policies must not exclude or discourage children from programs based on their immigration status.
