HB4193 amends the Restore, Reinvest, and Renew (R3) Program by requiring the allocation of at least 25% and no more than 30% of its annual funds for targeted community grant programs. These grants will be awarded by the Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity, in coordination with the R3 Community Steering Committee. The bill also revises the composition of the R3 Program Board, specifying that certain members must be appointed by the President of the Senate and the Speaker of the House from nominations received from not-for-profit organizations continuously operating in an R3 Area.
