HB4119 amends the School Code to require the State Board of Education to develop model procedures for implementing mental health screenings in schools. These procedures must include an option for parents to opt in for their children's screenings. The State Board of Education must release a strategy for implementing these screenings, including a tool for measuring district readiness. The strategy must also include recommendations for screening tools, training for staff, and linkage and referral for identified students.
