The Sara Lynn Act amends the Illinois Public Aid Code to establish a Seniors Deserve Dignity Program. This program provides monthly supplemental personal needs payments of $30 to qualifying seniors residing in supportive living facilities. These payments ensure the seniors' total monthly personal needs allowance is no less than $120. The payments will not be considered income for eligibility or assistance amount determinations for any public aid benefit. The Department of Healthcare and Family Services is granted rulemaking authority to implement the program. The Act takes effect July 1, 2025.
