HB3860 amends the School Code to allow school districts with low enrollment in grades 9 through 12 to deactivate their high school facilities for the 1988-1989 school year. These districts can send their students to schools in adjoining districts. The deactivation requires voter approval and a contract between the districts. The deactivated district must pay the receiving district for the cost of educating the students. The deactivated district can reactivate the high school facility if voters approve.
