Illinois HB3769 amends the Illinois Occupational Therapy Practice Act to specify when occupational therapists and assistants may provide services without a referral. It allows licensed professionals to offer services within their scope of practice without a referral for consultations, habilitation, screenings, education, wellness, prevention, environmental assessments, and work-related ergonomic services. Referrals are still required if a patient does not show improvement after 10 visits or 15 business days, whichever comes first.
