HB3742

ETHICS-PROCUREMENT BIDS

Introduced·2/7/25
Introduced Text

Prohibit directors, employees, investors, and their family members from bidding on local government procurement contracts.

The Procurement Bid Ethics Transparency Act aims to prevent conflicts of interest in local government procurement bidding processes. It prohibits directors, employees, investors, or immediate family members of any corporation, organization, or entity involved in a local government's procurement bid process from simultaneously submitting and competing for a bid in that same unit of local government. Failure to disclose such involvement can result in a civil penalty of up to $1,000,000.
