Illinois HB3734 increases cash assistance for the Aid to the Aged, Blind, or Disabled program.

HB3734 amends the Aid to the Aged, Blind, or Disabled (AABD) program in Illinois to increase cash assistance. Starting July 1, 2025, the total monthly income, including financial aid, must be at least 85% of the federal poverty level. By July 1, 2026, it must be at least 100% of the federal poverty level. The bill ensures no reduction in aid for those already eligible before July 1, 2025. The federal poverty level is defined as the poverty guidelines updated by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.
