Illinois HB3718 amends the Mental Health and Developmental Disabilities Code to change how investigations are handled when a facility employee is suspected of abuse, neglect, or financial exploitation of a recipient. If credible evidence suggests the employee may have committed physical abuse, sexual abuse, significant financial exploitation, egregious neglect, or obstructed an investigation, the employee is barred from contact with recipients. The employee remains barred pending the investigation's outcome.
