Illinois HB3653 mandates businesses to offer customers the choice to speak with a human representative at the start of automated phone or text.

Illinois HB3653 amends the Consumer Fraud and Deceptive Business Practices Act by adding a new section requiring businesses that use automated telephone answering systems or text interfaces simulating conversation to provide customers the option to communicate with a human representative at the beginning of the interaction. This applies during the business's normal hours of operation.
