Extreme Weather Recovery Act allows harmed parties to sue responsible parties for damages from climate disasters and extreme weather.

The Extreme Weather Recovery Act creates a private cause of action for harmed parties against responsible parties for damages from climate disasters and extreme weather. Harmed parties include individuals, businesses, and associations that suffered damages of at least $10,000. Responsible parties are those who sold fossil fuel products with greenhouse gas emissions of at least one billion metric tons during a specified period. The Act allows for strict liability and market-share liability.
