HB3550

RIVERS/LAKES/STREAMS-FUND

Introduced·2/7/25
Introduced Text

Illinois HB3550 amends the Rivers, Lakes, and Streams Act to change where penalty fees and permit application fees are deposited.

HB3550 modifies the Rivers, Lakes, and Streams Act by changing where certain fees are deposited. Specifically, penalty fees collected for violations of the Act and application fees for permits will now be deposited into the Water Resources Fund instead of the State Boating Act Fund. These funds will be used by the Department of Natural Resources for ordinary and contingent expenses. The bill also specifies that these fees are not subject to administrative charges or chargebacks unless otherwise authorized by the Act.
