Illinois HB3485 amends the Illinois Emergency Management Agency Act to create the Illinois Homeland Security Advisory Council (IL-HSAC) and the Illinois Cybersecurity Commission. The IL-HSAC will report to the Homeland Security Advisor and provide recommendations on domestic terrorism preparedness and emergency management plans. The Cybersecurity Commission will focus on cybersecurity, critical infrastructure protection, and public safety training. The bill also establishes a Statewide Interoperability Coordinator to ensure interoperable communications for emergency responders.
