Illinois HB3393 amends the Code of Criminal Procedure to allow child victims of criminal sexual assault, aggravated criminal sexual assault, and other specified offenses to testify outside the courtroom via closed circuit television. The court must find that the child will not suffer severe emotional distress if testifying in person. The defendant cannot communicate with the jury during the child's testimony. The bill also allows victims with moderate, severe, or profound intellectual disabilities or developmental disabilities to testify outside the courtroom under similar conditions.
